Waking up to the smell of chocolate waffles and maple syrup is the best feeling in the world, and the feeling of eating them is just as good...
Chocolate waffles should be a staple in every household, topped with berries, whipped cream, maple syrup, and a heaping glass of milk. Making these waffles is easy, which makes it just as rewarding when eating them, not having to go through so much hassle just for a delicious breakfast.
The ingredients for this recipe are not too hard to get, many of which you probably already have in the kitchen. For this recipe that has 10 serving, you will need...
· 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
· 3 teaspoons baking powder
· ½ teaspoon salt
· ½ cup white sugar
· 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
· 1 cup milk
· 2 eggs
· 4 tablespoons butter, melted
· 1 tablespoon butter, softened
· ¾ cup confectioners' sugar
· ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
· 1 teaspoon milk
Before using any of the ingredients, preheat the waffle iron, so it is ready to go when you are.
To create the waffles out of this concoction of ingredients, you mix all the dry ingredients in one bowl, and all the wet ingredients in another.
Mix both batters, making sure not to mix too much, so the batter is not rough.
After everything is whisked up and ready to go, spread oil, or butter, all over your waffle iron so the waffles do not stick to the iron.
These waffles are said to be “Just as easy as making cereal, but more delicious!” by Lucy Lowther, my sister, who also is obsessed with this recipe.
Have fun making these waffles! Many suggest pairing them with fruit, syrup, and whipped cream, whatever is to your liking. But be careful, because before you know it, you may have eaten every last waffle!
