The Riverview Rams went into week one trying to jumpstart their season and bounce back from the 20-7 loss they suffered to Tampa Bay Tech in the preseason kickoff classic. Revenge was also on their mind.
Riverview began their season in Sanford, Florida last year against Seminole High School with a whooping, losing 35-6.
This time it was worse. Riverview lost 48-0.
The defense began with an early stop, allowing Riverview to drive down the field toward the Seminole 25-yard line, where they were stopped. Instead of letting Senior kicker Stone Springman attempt a near 45-yard field goal, the Rams went for the first down. That call did not pay off and Riverview turned it over on downs.
Riverview was able to move the ball down the field again only once, with a third quarter 50-yard-deep ball to Junior wide receiver Charles Lester III.

The Seminole offense started slow but were able to easily move the ball down the field. Even with all their starters pulled they were still able to run up the score right to the final play of the game, a touchdown.
Riverview’s schedule does not get easier. The Rams face off next against the school ranked #11 in the State, Buchholz High School in Gainesville. They will be looking to avoid their first 0-2 start since the 2015 season. The game will be live streamed October 2nd on the Riverview Rams football YouTube channel at 7 p.m.
