New season of Siesta Key

The drama continues on the beautiful shores of Sarasota’s county. Local celebrity actors and actresses prepare for the premiere of their new season of the reality tv-show “Siesta Key.”

The show was inspired by many other hit reality television series that came before it such as Jersey Shore and The Real Orange County. Gary Kompothecras also known as “1-800-ask-gary” put up the money to produce the first episode of the show. His son Alex Kompothecras along with many his friends are the stars of the show.

The first episode of the series got released on July 31, 2017, to get data on the viewers’ statistics. With almost a million viewers in the United States, MTV ordered production of eight more episodes. The first season came to a total of 18 episodes. On Jan. 22, 2019, the second season premiered, and on Jan. 7, 2020, the third season dropped. On Nov. 18, 2020, MTV shared the news of the fourth season.

Siesta Key is a story of young adults who confront issues of love, heartbreak, class and looming adulthood while spending the summer together in their hometown. Nothing is off-limits as the friends come of age and try to figure out who they are and who they want to become, which includes getting romantically involved with each other.

Surprisingly, the star of the show, Alex Kompothecras, was fired from the show following a post of racial profanity on social media. The producers fired him after the third season in the midst of the Black Lives Matter movement in June, 2020. Since he girlfriend Alyssa Salerno had a child, there was no way the producer could keep her in the show so she as well will not be appearing in Season 4.

MTV had many struggles shooting this reality show during a global pandemic. Luckily, they were able to find safe ways to shoot, but this just extended the production time creating a greater level of suspense for the highly anticipated fourth season of “Siesta Key.”

The wait is over and the official debut of Season 4 will be on May 12 at 8 p.m. eastern standard time. There is no clear number of episodes to expect, but if it follows the previous seasons, there will be around 20 episodes in the season.

Grab a blanket and some popcorn, because the drama is about to begin.
