Andrea Caldas, whom was teaching in Panama is a new addition to the RHS math department.

Andrea Caldas is a new Algebra 1 teacher at Riverview who previously worked at the International School of Panama in Panama City, teaching math to middle schoolers.

Caldas has attended Central Michigan University, Johns Hopkins University, and the State University of New York. She has taught math for 11 years. She has taught math in places like Baltimore City, Brazil and Panama.

When asked about her initial impressions about RHS she talked about how the campus was beautiful .

“Everything I hear about Riverview is great,” she said, noting how everyone always has positive things to say about the school. She said she is very excited to be a part of the community.

Her hobbies include spending time with her family and traveling. She has a toddler and loves to be at the beach. She loves being a part of a multitude of activities.

She and her husband and moved to Brazil to teach. Her husband is Brazilian. She has a son, Owen, who is 2 and who was born in Panama.

Caldas is a great addition to the Riverview High School staff and students.
