The Lady Rams softball season is approaching very fast and the program could not be more excited. With the addition of new head coach, Michela Stockhill there is nowhere to go but up for this growing program.
Last year the lady rams had a rough season but with the return of majority of the varsity starters and young promising JV team these girls seem ready to get to work.
This upcoming season the lady rams will face a plethora of teams that have before of have the chance to this upcoming season compete for a state championship. Stockhill talked about this opportunity and what it means for the team after the hardest offseason this program has ever had, “The off season is a time to establish camaraderie with your teammates and train harder than our competition. It’s our job to make sure we are as prepared as we can be to face our competition and our offseason workouts are a time for us to outwork other teams.”
The rams prepared more than they ever have before in the past during this first offseason under the leadership of Coach Stockhill. The month before thanksgiving break they spent many hours in the new and improved Riverview weight room with many girls from both JV and Varsity showing up.
The month after the break the lady rams had conditioning every week which included different drills to make them stronger and faster.
Captain Holley Peluso talks about what she is most excited for this upcoming season “I’m excited to get back on the field with an amazing group of high school softball players.” Adding after that, that she is very excited to see Coach Stockhill in her new position.
Coach Stockhill has high expectations for this expecting the team to have very good chemistry that will provide a winning season. Reiterating that the hard work needs to be continued during the season if they want to pull out wins against the tough schools that are in their schedule.
